The Provident Bank Donates Children’s Books and Participates in Read Across America Day on Dr. Seuss’s Birthday at Local Area Centers.
The Provident Bank participated in Read Across America Day by reading children’s books to pre-school children at Clark Preschool, two YMCAs of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge and South Amboy locations and at the Head Start of Lehigh Valley. Employees also generously donated over 200 children’s books to support the cause.
The children were attentive and excited to read and learn. At story time, they gathered on the reading rug as Provident employees read Dr. Seuss stories such as “The Cat in the Hat,” “Fox in Socks” and “Green Eggs and Ham.” They engaged with the stories, asked questions and identified colors, foods and animals along with the noises they make. To cap off the day, both Provident employees and the preschoolers enjoyed a sing-along and played games.
