The Provident Bank Raises More Than $6,500 for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Through a series of fundraising initiatives in September, including Apollo Grill’s “Therapeutic Thursdays” program, The Provident Bank’s Lehigh Valley team recently raised more than $6,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The fundraising events culminated at the annual “Light The Night” Walk for the Eastern PA Chapter of LLS, which was held on September 27 at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley.

“Bob Price (SVP/Commercial Lender) and I are so grateful for the outpouring of contributions we’ve received from our friends, family and customers, with a special thanks to Rod, Diane and the staff at Apollo Grill for partnering with us on an exceptionally successful fundraiser,” said June Webre, Provident Bank’s Lehigh Valley Regional President. “Bob was blessed to be a part of this year’s Light The Night Executive Committee for the Lehigh Valley to show support for a dear friend and customer undergoing treatment for blood cancer, and we all feel closer to making an impact after these last few weeks of activities.”

Representatives from a number of Lehigh Valley companies turned out to support Team Provident Bank’s fundraiser at Apollo, including Scott Allinson, Partner at Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus and the chairperson of the Lehigh Valley Light The Night Walk, Kassie Hilgert, President & CEO of ArtsQuest, and Tom Mesko, President of Mesko Spotting, who is currently undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

“We are extremely grateful for Provident Bank’s participation in this year’s ‘Light the Night’ walk - as a sponsor, as one of our top fundraising teams, and also for being represented on our Executive Committee,” said Lauren Iannucci, Campaign Director for Light the Night/LLS Eastern PA Chapter. “With the donations that are made in their honor, patients, families and local researchers know that we are getting one step closer to finding a cure for those battling this disease.”

Collective contributions by local teams and sponsors, including Provident Bank, are helping the Eastern PA Chapter of LLS to reach its event fundraising goal of $2.2 million.
