Provident Bank Interns Volunteer At NJ Veterans Memorial Home - Give Back To The Community

On Friday, June 26th interns from The Provident Bank spent the day volunteering at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park in Edison talking with residents, serving them coffee, and playing games with them.

Provident Bank coordinated the effort to afford the interns an opportunity to enhance their summer internship experience by giving back to the community.

“The veterans that I had the pleasure of sitting with were so excited to talk to the interns, and some of them even used to work in banking, too,” said Samantha Chesney, intern at Provident Bank. “It was really nice to hear stories and advice from the veterans, and their positive attitudes were inspiring.”

Another intern, Yunrui Li, shared, “Being probably the only intern who is not a U.S. citizen, my first time playing bingo was with these veterans. It was meaningful and fun! Thank you for arranging this, and I would love to participate in future volunteer events if given the opportunity.”

Provident Bank also donated 75 windbreaker jackets and 100 t-shirts to the residents of the memorial home.
